May I use this following line of yours as a positive quote for my very humble Substack-in-Swahili: "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!"
I would, certainly, cite your substack as the source. :)
You are very welcome to use the quote but I should point out that it's not mine. It's been attributed to a few people but it seems to be showing as Vivian Greene most commonly on a Google search.
I think it must do it automatically when it's your own post you comment on. I haven't done anything that I'm aware of to add it but I've noticed it on other people's posts. Hope that helps! 😊
That post is all set to release now, Sarah. It will published on Wednesday at 00:07 EST. And you are correct--it was Vivian Green. Thank you for that! I found a Facebook post of hers saying it was from 2011. She should come over to @substack! :)
Always been a big fan of Shirley, she's got gumption. :) I like the soft delivery of After the Rain, it almost felt like an unmasking of 'the voice' to show her vulnerability.
Know what you mean about rain on a glass roof - our kitchen has one and it reminds me of rain on canvas when you're camping. :)
I love rain - though it’s getting in the way of sorting my allotment a lot at the moment... but it’s refreshing, renewing, invigorating. And yes, as a metaphor for bad times, we can see how we appreciate the sun when there has been rain. Hope you are ok, sounds like you’re having a heavy time just now. Sending hugs x
The rain is certainly very special and to be be celebrated, I just wish we had a little more sunshine in between rain showers at the minute. And as for cutting the grass, it’s No Mow May, you have the perfect excuse ☺️

Thanks for reading! 😊
Roger that, Sarah. I shall do a google search to confirm.
Separately, how do you get the purple Author icon to show on your name and picture?
😊

I have to admit, she's not someone I would normally listen to, but this song just really caught my ear.
The conservatory is quickly becoming one of my favourite places to sit and relax and a rainy day just makes it even better. 😊

My garden is a bit worse for wear too at the moment. It just needs a tidy but the grass can't be cut when it's wet.
It's been a pretty challenging week but we'll get through it. 🥰 xx

The only problem with No Mow May is that I've also had a No Mow March and April!! 😂 It's really desperate to be cut.
But yes, a little more sunshine would be nice sometimes too. 😊
